We saw in our publication of the month of May 2016, how using as a reference the ISO 4406:99, the assets of the company subject to lubrication, could extend their useful life up to ten times fold.
However, the whole process of control of pollution of the lubricants of assets, begins with the realization of a correct storage.
The Lubrication Room is the sanctuary, the blood of the equipment: THE LUBRICANTS
In this Lubrication Room, all lubricants that enter are measured the level of particulate pollution and water as well as the viscosity at the time of entering.
Here is where begins the Lubricants Cleaning Chain.
In the case that the lubricants do not have the level of cleanliness required in the code objective of cleaning that is determined by the Organization, and external filtration takes place using a Filtration Cart or other suitable device designed to this effect.
The entry of persons to the Lube Room is restricted to the staff and those who enter must do so through the application of a Standard Operating Procedure.
Normally, the staff to enter should do so with cover, safety glasses, mouth-covering-mask and covers-boots.
In the interior of the Lube Room must exist a marking of where the lubricants should be, greases should be, absolute absence of dust, mitigation of temperature changes, floor completely clean and covered with a layer of polymer that facilitate cleaning, presence of signaling box colors for the different lubricants, visible file box with all the safety data sheets of the lubricants to be used in the plant.
These Standard Operation Procedures, assure us that the lubricants are arriving in optimum conditions to the equipments where they are going to perform their operation, ensuring savings in the following ways:
Extension of life of the assets: Up to ten times fold, lowering the operational costs and failures in the same proportion.
Friendlyenvironment for operators
Reduction of waste, because the Lubricants ruled by ISO 4406:99 can prolong its useful life by much more time. (two to three times more). Result: less damage to the environment.
The life of the assets depends on the function of lubricant ISO cleanliness. β, and the level of the pores of the filters is finer, the number of cycles of use of the equipment increases exponentially, before the fault by fatigue.
So we have to with a pore 40 micron = 40 µm, on a particular equipmentone could expect one million cycles of asset utilization. But if the pore is reduced to 3 micron = 3 µm, the number of work cycles increases by a factor of 6 more times.
